Our culture at Kerribana Primary School is that we are inclusive of all. Our school motto is ‘Celebrating Everyone’s Best’ and it signals that we notice, value and champion the strengths and progress of others. Our school values, philosophy and vision guide our organisational leadership, governance, and culture to ensure that child safety and wellbeing are embedded in our school’s daily practices.
Kerribana Primary School has developed a range of strategies to promote engagement, an inclusive and safe environment, positive behaviours and respectful relationships for all students in our school. We recognise the importance of student friendships and peer support in helping children and students feel safe and ready to learn. We acknowledge that some students may need differentiated social, emotional or educational support at school, and that the needs of students will change over time as they grow and learn.
Supported Inclusion School
We are proud to be a Supported Inclusion School and will offer a dedicated percentage of our enrolments to students with a disability and their families, as per our Enrolment Management Policy. These students are valued members of their learning community and participate in classes with their peers. We provide holistic support to these students to meet their learning, social, health and all other needs.
Kerribana PS has an Assistant Principal with the portfolio of Inclusion and Wellbeing. This is supported by dedicated Wellbeing teachers, and have created Wellbeing Hubs in all our Learning Pavilions. Staff operate a number of safe spaces at break times to facilitate social connection, nurture play, and ensure students feel safe and valued.
