Morning
Kerribana Primary School is open from 8:30am each morning for students to start their day with play and connection in the school yard. Staff are on duty to supervise students from 8:30am. We also open the Canteen each morning at 8:30 for Breakfast Club, providing a supplementary breakfast for any community member.
From 8:45 to 9am, students gather in their classroom for Connections. This 15 minute protected time is for relationship building within each child’s learning community. It is often filled with core games, laughter, curiosity and a deeper understanding of each member of the class.
Afternoon
We have two breaks throughout the day. First Break (Lunch) is 10:50 – 11:25am, followed by eating time for 10 minutes. Students spread out across the two playgrounds, soccer pitches, many basketball and downball courts, and the two play equipment precincts. Students can participate in lower sensory, staff-supervised spaces by accessing The Library, or the Positive Play Room. Our second break begins with eating at 1:35pm, then the play time is 1:40 – 2:15pm. School concludes at Kerribana at 3:15pm.
Pavilions
Student classes are spread over three key pavilions. Years Foundations to Two classes share their Green Pavilion with the Art and Music Rooms. Upstairs in the Gold Pavilion, Years Five and Six share their space with the Science Rooms. Across the bridge, in the Blue Pavilion is for our Years Three and Four classes, along with the Maker Space and Out of Hours Care Room. Students visit each Pavilion weekly for Specialist classes, branching out across the school.
