Student Leaders

House Captains

At Kerribana Primary School, opportunities to lead are woven into all classes, subjects and programs. However, there are dedicated Student Leaders who hold formal positions within our School.

School Captains are elected annually by the Senior Students and our Staff. This is a merit-based selection process with leaders being elected based on meeting Key Selection Criteria and following a speech to the student body. School Captains carry out formal representative roles such as attending community events and representing Kerribana Primary School. They also report to the School Principal fortnightly and provide feedback, wonderings and idea to our School Council.

House Captains are elected by the Senior Members of our four sporting houses. The houses are:

  • Luk (Eel) – Red House
  • Waring (Wombat) – Blue House
  • Poorneet (Tadpole) – Green House
  • Biderap (Butterfly/Moth) – Yellow House

House Captains lead their house for our Swimming Carnival, Athletics Carnival, Cross Country and other sporting events. They provide assistance to the Physical Education teacher when required. They support younger students with our PMP Program and are models of inclusive practices, sportsmanship and participation.

Student Representative Council (SRC)

Teachers support identifying one SRC member from each classroom. They form a student representative group and work with the Wellbeing Leads to coordinate activities that promote positive connections to Kerribana PS. At times, they oversee fundraising activities with profits being allocated by the SRC to charity groups or school enhancements. They help our Parents and Friends Group, the Kerribana Village, with our End of Term Memory-Making Events.
